Friendship Star I also worked on my log cabins a bit and started on another block for my sampler. It has been too hot to really get much accomplished. My son's bday is this weekend and we'll see how well he likes his quilt. :)
I think this heat just might do me in!!! I did manage to get two blocks made today for the sampler, but that was all. Here are the cgi versions. The first is the Friendship Star and the next is Swamp Patch. I'm skipping around again, as I'm waiting for more fabric.
This block couldn't have been any easier! Here is a cgi pic. I'm ready for class tomorrow. Now, should I work on the tedious log cabin blocks or tackle the grandmother's flower garden block with is hand pieced and appliqued... neither of which is appealing to me.
I just finished block 13 for my sampler. Cross and Crown. Here is the cgi pic. I really like how this one turned out!!! It was easy to make as soon as I figured out what size pieces to cut... the squares were actually 1 11/16".
I made two blocks for a dear friend today and then tonight I made my 12th block for the samper, Gulf Star. Here is a cgi pic of the block. It is still miserably hot, but I dare say I'm getting used to it. My hubby was home tonight, so I'm surprised I got any quilting done. He works tomorrow night though, so I would like to get at least one more block done and maybe some more pieces added to my log cabins.
A bit of a boring night so far. It is a tad cooler and I've tried to be productive. My back is hurting so I'm taking a break now. I did manage to add another piece to my log cabins and sew another block for my sampler, Stamp Baskets. Here is the cgi version...
I finished the Bachelor's Puzzle last night but was too tired to post the cgi pic. Here it is. It is finally raining and I'm hoping it will cool things down a bit. I got packages today in the mail, charms, so I'm off to go sort them. :)
I just finished the Star of the Orient block. Here is a cgi picture. I'll hopefully get a real picture of this one and the Tennessee Star tomorrow. I didn't realize I would finish this one so quickly, and the night is still young. I guess I can start working on the Bachelor's Puzzle now... at least cut the fabric for it.
It is miserably hot, my back is killing me, but I managed to finish that Tennessee Star block. I really like it! Here is the cgi version. I'll post a pic of the real thing probably this weekend. I don't have a camera, but my dear sweet friend takes pics for me. :) I'm going to work on the Star of the Orient next.
I have worked for hours and hours and have so little to show for it. This block gave me all sorts of grief. I couldn't get the points lined up and when I finally did the fabric was so distorted, like a fun house mirror! I finally decided to change the pattern, by disecting into 4 parts and paper piecing them. That worked perfectly!!!! A few more seams, but I'm still very, very pleased!
Back to being miserable again! It is way too hot in the house again. I did quite a bit of cutting tonight, mainly charm squares, and some strips for my log cabin. I also was able to make a very quick block, this is the second block of the sampler, Shoo-Fly.
I finished the borders on the mystery today and I really like it a lot more. It needed the borders to bring it all together. And I finished another block for the sampler "Posies Round the Square" which is the 4th block. But now that I have more fabric I'm going to back track and do them in order. I'm very excited and have most of the fabric decided on for the blocks in the first row. :)
